Ranchi, Feb.4: A case of dual registration of a single property surfaced in a posh locality of Jharkhand capital, Ashok Nagar, after an FIR was registered in this connection at the Argora police station.
Honorary Secretary of Services Housing Co-operative Society, Ashok Nagar, Anil Shanker, registered the FIR informing that the property which has been registered twice is Plot No.113 D. He said it was owned by a 2013 batch Jharkhand Administrative Service officer Rahul Verma, who died of Covid-19 on April 24, 2021, without nominating anyone to claim the property after his death.
Shanker informed about the two names against whom the property was registered include deceased’s mother Sandhya Rani Verma and Nishi Verma, who claims to be wife of the deceased but have no documents supporting her claim.
Shanker confirmed the FIR saying both of them procured false NOC from the cooperative society with the help of an insider forging signature of former honorary secretary Gopal Ji Prasad.
“I have registered the FIR to take action against those involved in the racket. Irregularities have not only been done only in the co-operative society office but also at the registrar office where one property was registered twice in the name of two persons,” Shanker said.
Officer-in-charge of Argora police station Vinod Kumar said an FIR was registered in the matter under section 420, 467, 468, 471 and 34 for IPC.
According to the FIR, those involved in registration include Bedanand Jha, Abha Verma, Sandhya Verma, Nitesh Verma, Mayank Ranjan, Kamlesh Kumar Vinita Kumari besides officials of the co-operative society and sub registrar office. Majority of those involved in the fraud are from Patna in Bihar.
