New Delhi, August 5:  A technical issue caused an Indigo flight heading for Ranchi to return to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in Delhi within an hour of takeoff on Saturday morning, according to officials.

An aboard passenger said that the pilot of Indigo flight 6E-2172 announced the technical issue with the aircraft mid-flight and that the flight would be returning to the IGI airport.

“The pilot announced that there was a technical snag in the plane, so we are going back to Delhi airport. We felt vibration on-board during flight,” the passenger said.

The Indigo flight left the capital city about 7:40 am and arrived back around 8:20 am.

A different aircraft is being arranged for the specified operation, but it will take some time, the Indigo crew informed the passengers.

The airline didn’t issue an immediate statement regarding the aforementioned occurrence.

An emergency landing was conducted at Patna earlier on Friday because of problems with one of the aircraft’s engines on a journey from Delhi.

Three minutes after takeoff, Indigo aircraft 6E 2433 to Delhi reported an inoperative engine. The plane made a safe landing at 09:11, according to airport officials.
