Ranchi, Dec 20: Asha Barla, the golden girl from Gumla who has made the state and nation proud by winning Gold medal at the international and national level, was felicitated by CMD, CCL PM Prasad in presence of Dir (Pers), CCL HN Mishra at CCL Headquarter in Ranchi on Tuesday.
Notably, HoD Welfare Rekha Pandey along with Manager Sports Adil Hussain were present on the occasion.
Congratulating Barla on her accomplishments, Prasad stated that she has made her family, state and the entire country proud by her accomplishments.
He further added that CCL is always ready to extend any help to her. Dir (Pers) Mishra also stated that Barla should continue her training with the same dedication and discipline so that she can conquer new peaks.
Notably, Barla is a resident of Gumla and has won gold medal at the 37th National Junior Athletic Championship in under 20 age group at the 800 m event category. Prior to this, she won a Gold Medal at an Asian level event in Kuwait. She completed the 800-meter event in a record time of 2 Minutes and 6 Seconds.
Moreover, CCL under its CSR initiative operates Jharkhand Sports Academy where free of cost training in different sports disciplines along with residential facilities is provided to the selected sports cadets from the state.
