Ranchi, Dec 20: The care of the children who became orphans during the pandemic or for other reasons should be ensured by their families, said MNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B during the Aftercare Workshop organised by the Jharkhand State Child Protection Society on Tuesday.
She said that the initiative to make such children responsible citizens should not start after they turn 18 but from the age of 14 so that when the children leave the children’s homes, they can become self-reliant.
Along with this, all the participants were instructed that after ending the cases of those who have violated the law, the care of such children should be ensured in their families only.
Moreover, she said that the care of the children should be in their family only, it is included in the priority of the Central Government and the State Government, but there are some orphan children who need institutional care.
“All these things should be taken care of in the guidelines of the state. Also, it should be an endeavour that the aftercare guidelines are outcome-based,” she added.
Moreover, Dr Alisha of Rinpas, Deputy Secretary of Jhalsa Manish Mishra, Vinay Kumar of Skill Development Mission and Nupur of Aajeevika Mission also gave necessary suggestions for aftercare guidelines in the workshop.
