Ranchi, Feb 4: At a time when the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) investigation into mega scams have put many top politicians, bureaucrats and police officials of Jharkhand on the tenterhook, a person running a manpower outsource company dared to threat the ED officials for reporting against him.

The ED on Friday lodged a complaint against Bikram Kumar Pandey, director of B.K Hi-tech Consultancy Services Private Limited at the Airport police station in Ranchi for threatening ED officials.

Officer-in-charge of the Airport police station Anand Prakash Singh said that a non-FIR case will be registered and the report will be submitted to the competent judicial magistrate.

The ED had hired some manpower from this company which is registered at the Government e-Marketplace. The company had outsourced around 16 persons to the Ranchi zonal office of the ED. The ED was making payments to the company against their salary and Provident Fund (PF) of hired manpower as agreed. On average, the ED was paying Rs. 16000 to each of them.

But these staff alleged the company did not deposit their PF money and lodged written complaints with the ED on many occasions. Even the Employees’ Provident Fund had intimated to the ED that the PF amount of these outsourced staff is not deposited. The PF amount of these hired staff accumulated to Rs. Six Lakh which the company allegedly did not deposit.

On getting written complaints from victims, the ED intervened and informed the Government e-Marketplace about the foul practices of the company.  The Government e-Marketplace blacklisted the B.K Hi-tech Consultancy Services Private Limited. When Bikram Kumar Pandey came to know that his company was blacklisted he called up a senior ED official.

Sources said that Bikram Kumar Pandey allegedly threatened a senior ED official over the phone with dire consequences for sending a report to the Government e-Marketplace. He further said that he would teach ED officials a lesson. The Ranchi zonal office informed the headquarters about the threat. The ED headquarter directed to lodge an FIR against the company director.

B.k Hi-tech Consultancy Services Private Limited was incorporated on 5 September 2012. Bikram Kumar Pandey and Kanchan Pandey are their directors. The registered address of the company is at HI- 76 Harmu Housing Colony in Ranchi.
