Ranchi, Feb 20: A Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) student has been awarded a SERB abroad visiting doctoral fellowship.
Prashant Kumar is a PhD student working under the guidance of energy and engineering department professor Dr Basudev Pradhan.
Notably, SERB is an abbreviation for Sciences and Engineering Research Board. He will spend a year conducting research on perovskite solar cells at Purdue University’s Davidson Department of Chemical Engineering in the United States as part of an abroad visiting doctoral fellowship.
The fellowship programme is a result of the strategic partnership between India and the United States. The SERB will provide a monthly fellowship of US $2,000, a contingency grant, and medical insurance, as well as an abroad travel stipend to the student, Indian supervisor, and overseas adviser, as part of the programme.
Expressing his thoughts on this accomplishment, Prashant said, “I am delighted to receive this fellowship and have an opportunity to work in state-of-the-art research facilities at PU, thanks to CUJ, the NGPR Lab and my supervisor.”
Congratulating the student and his guide, Dr Pradhan said that this kind of fellowship will strengthen the international partnership between USA and India.
