Dhanbad, May 19: Newly elected president of the Ranchi chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has decided to provide free-of-cost expert doctor consultancy service to the people of the state capital at the IMA building.
At the first executive meeting of the newly elected office-bearers, chaired by president Dr Shekhar Choudhary Kajal, five sub-committees including a cultural committee, sports committee, ethics committee, academic committee and finance committee were constituted for the implementation of the IMA programmes.
President Dr Shekhar Choudhary Kajal said on a priority basis the IMA campus would be made a members-friendly place and classes of music, dance, yoga and karate would be held for the children of doctors. The help of the Doctors Wives Association would be taken to run such programmes.
“Without active participation of women doctors, no programme of the IMA could be successful. So, we have resolved to encourage and increase participation of the IMA women doctors in the activities on a priority basis,” said the Ranchi IMA president.
Dr Kajal said that at present, getting the Medical Protection Act (MPA) implemented in the state is the first challenge before the Ranchi IMA. He said the IMA Ranchi will launch a special campaign to remove confusion among people’s representatives and people about the MPA.
The newly elected body also resolved to adopt one village for its all-around development as per the directive of the IMA national body and hold at least two CME per month. “We would also carry on a special awareness programme about mental health and mobile addiction,” said Dr Kajal.
