Ranchi: Marwari Yuva Manch Mahila Samarpan Branch organises Sawan fair and eye donation camp

Ranchi, Aug 1: The Marwari Yuva Manch Mahila Samarpan Branch organised a Sawan Mela, which was inaugurated by IPS officer, Commandant, JAP 10, Hotwar cum SP, ACB Sandhya Rani Mehta and ophthalmologist Dr Nidhi Gadkar Kashyap.

IPS Mehta, who was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion, while addressing the audience present said, “Empowerment of a woman means empowerment of the whole family. If one woman moves forward, the whole family moves forward.”

She further said that the eye donation awareness camp has also been set up at the fair. Meanwhile, Dr Kashyap informed all regarding the importance of eye donation.

 

 

Dr Kashyap further said that eyes should be donated within six hours of the death of a person. This means that within six hours of the death of a person, their eyes can be donated. She also said that if people donate their eyes in time, someone may get a new life. The President of the organisation, Puja Saraogi said that the Samarpan branch has always been working for the needy.

The IPS further donated her eyes and signed the related documents in a step towards awareness regarding eye donation.

 

 

“Keeping this trend intact, we are organizing Sawan Mela. This Sawan Mela Samarpan Shakha has been doing this for several years. This year’s Sawan Mela will be held between August 1 and 3 at Agrasen Bhavan. There are some women who have a lot of talent. These women make many things like pickles, papads, rakhis, and decorating items, but they don’t have the proper means to sell their products. We provide a platform to these women to give them recognition,” Saraogi added.

The fair has around 50 stalls that are of rakhis, clothes, jewellery, bedsheets, silk sarees, dresses, etc. Media in-charge Sarita Bathwal said that all the stalls of the fair have been set up. Along with the stalls in the fair, there are also food stalls.

An entertainment programme has also been arranged for the ladies of the stall. On the occasion of the inauguration, president Puja Saraogi, secretary Shweta Bhala, Vinita Singhania, Sumita Lath, Kavita Somani, Ranju Malpani, Sapna Singhania, Deepika Motika, Ritu Poddar, Shashi Banka, Puja Agarwal, Shubha Agarwal, Chanda Agarwal, Manisha Lohia, Hema Kejriwal were present.
