Ranchi: The district administration and traffic police have put special traffic arrangements in place for the traditional Muharram procession in Ranchi on Saturday, June 27. Normal vehicular movement will be restricted on the procession route and several connected roads from 1 pm to 7 pm.

Procession Route

The Muharram procession will begin at Vishwanath Chowk and pass through Kali Mandir, Wool House, and Fatehullah Road before concluding at Karbala Chowk. Normal traffic will remain suspended on these routes during the procession.

Diversions and Advisory

Traffic police have stated that additional diversions may be implemented in other parts of the city based on crowd density and traffic pressure. Citizens have been advised to check traffic updates before travelling, use only police-designated alternative routes, avoid restricted roads, and not to share misleading messages on social media. Any suspicious activity should be reported to police immediately.

Security Measures

Police and administration conducted flag marches in sensitive areas of the city, with officers reviewing security arrangements and appealing to residents to maintain peace, harmony, and communal brotherhood. Adequate police force has been deployed to ensure the procession concludes peacefully.
