Ranchi: Two die, one injured in road mishap

Ranchi, Feb.25: Road safety in Ranchi got exposed after two died in a road accident near Anjuman Plaza under the Lower Bazar police station area in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The accident took place when a speeding car (Hyundai Creta) hit a scooter. The scooter got split into two pieces. Two sitting on it died while one sustained grievous injury.  The car was heading towards Albert Ekka Chowk from Ratan Talkies Chowk when the incident took place.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Shamshad and Mohammad Zaid. The injured person has been identified as Zikra Parveen. They all belonged to the same family. They were returning to their residence after participating in a marriage function at the Anjuman Plaza banquet hall.

The officer in charge of Lower Bazar police station Sanjay Kumar confirmed the incident saying the car has been seized. 

“It is being ascertained under which circumstance the accident took place,” he said.
