Ranchi University to spend Rs 10.5 lakh on convocation this year

Ranchi, Jan.29: Ranchi University finance committee approved a budget of Rs 10.5 lakh for the 35th convocation scheduled on February 4.

The budgetary allocation for printing cards is Rs 20,000 while for printing souvenirs, RU Bulletin and speech booklet is Rs 2.3 lakh.

Other items include Rs 2.5 lakh for Gold Medal, Memento and Badges, Rs 50,000 for hoarding and advertisement, Rs 50,000 for contingency, Rs one lakh for refreshment and high tea, Rs 75000 for conveyance and honorarium, Rs 50,000 for the gown, Rs 1.5 lakh for tent electricity, decoration and construction of gate and Rs 75,000 for miscellaneous expenses.

The amount is Rs 9.5 lakh less than the previous budget for the convocation held on March 1 last year.
