Ranchi, Feb 24: The Ranchi University Vice Chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha on Friday cleared a total of 12 cases stuck post-litigation due to payment issues. Notably, the VC has announced to organise a ‘Teacher and Non-Teaching staff judicial dispute settlement programme’ every Friday on the university premises, the first session of which was organised today.
The Vice-Chancellor discussed 12 issues of both teaching and non-teaching staff members, of which, one was cleared on spot, wherein a professor was provided with a part of his settlement on Friday, while the VC asked for time varying from one week to two months in other matters.
Prior to beginning the meeting, the VC said, “This programme is being organised to resolve all kinds of payment-related issues of all former employees that are pending in the judiciary. Such meetings will be organised every Friday at 3 pm in order to help those that need it.”
The issues resolved on Friday include one of JP Sinha vs the State of Jharkhand, wherein, the VC issued a check of over 18 lakhs in the name of the complainant to resolve the issue of retiral benefits. The VC further urged Sinha to inform him of the remaining amounts through an application and promised to pay him the amount. Notably, the case was pending since 1992.
The VC further talked to Debbrata Majumdar from Sisai, who retired as a peon from PRJ College under RU in 2022. A PPO was issued in his name for the pending Rs 7,274 to clear the issue of pay fixation. In a similar issue of Arjun Kumar vs the State of Jharkhand, the VC has asked for a time of one month to clarify and pay him the amount that is due.
Furthermore, the VC discussed issues of Sudama Chaubey vs State, wherein Chaubey is to be paid pension gratuity. The VC promised to resolve the issue within the next 15 days. Similarly, in the case of Vinod Kumar Mishra vs State about payment of arrear pension deference of 6th and 7th pay commission, the VC asked for one month to resolve the issue. Later, while discussing the issue of leave encashment among others in the case of Naveen Kumar and Others vs State, the VC promised to clear the payment within one month.
In the case of Abhimanyu Kumar Shukla vs State, the VC has promised to pay retiral benefits with 10 per cent interest as per the order of the High Court, which amounts to around Rs 1 lakh within a month. On the other hand, in the case of Prabhat Kumar Sinha vs State for 5th and 6th pay arrears, the VC has instructed officials to clear the issue within a month.
Later, in the case of Rishi Raj Ojha vs State regarding fellowship and JRF payment, the VC promised to clear the amount of Rs 1 lakh within 15 days after all documents are submitted by the complainant. However, in the case of Dr Nafar Ali vs State from Mandar College, as the issue is yet to go to court, the VC has instructed officials to clear the regularisation and payment issue within 2 months. He further promised Dr Ali that the issue will be cleared before April ends.
After this, the VC discussed university cases, wherein in the case of Avdesh Kumar from Marwari College about retiral benefits as per pay fixation, the VC asked for one month time to clear the issue. Similarly, the VC has asked for two months to clear the issue of leave encashment from 1986 in the case of Pramod Kumar from BNJ Silai.
