Ranchi, March 8: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the 4th Tribal Food Festival and Free Mega Health Checkup Camp were held at Santosh College of Teachers Training and Education, Tupudana.
A total of 17 different food stalls were set up which included the local delicacies such as Madua Cake, Beng Saag Salad and Sharbat, Maad Jhor, Dhuska, Dumpling, Madua Ka Thekua, Madua Idli, Madua Bhej Momo, Muchri Saag, Futkal Saag, Chakor Saag and beverages of different tribes.
Dr. Ranjana Kumari, a member of the Jharkhand State Food Commission was one of the guests who attended the festival. She spoke about gender equality and education of women in the State.
“A better future can be made by establishing gender equality in the society. For this, it is important to improve the education, health, nutrition and representative level of women,” she added.
Apart from the food stalls, free mega health checkup camp and health check-up of villagers from Hulhundu, Balsering was also set up which provided free homeopathic medicine.
Dr. Rashmi Prasad, Director of the Institute, said that women are the epitome of creativity, strength, peace, dignity and life-support. The concept of an educated society can be fulfilled by an educated woman.
