Ranchi’s long jump athlete Priyanka Kerketta aims to shine in 36th National Games

Ranchi, Sept 2: The international long jump athlete from Ranchi Priyanka Kerketta on Thursday won gold for Eastern Railway with a jump of 6.24m during the 87th All India Inter Railway Athletics Championship held at Rae Bareli from Aug 29-31.

Speaking Lagatar24.com Priyanka said that it was a really good experience participating in the championship and is now focussing to do well in the upcoming national games and open national.

“It was a really good experience for me and I am really happy to win gold. It is the first gold for me this year and I am looking forward to winning more in the upcoming events. My main focus from here on will be to give my best in the National Games which will be held in Gujarat and also the open nationals,” Priyanka said.

Priyanka Kerketta also holds the record for the longest jump of 6.30m in the junior girls which she achieved during the 15th Federation Cup junior athletics championship held in June 2022.

Priyanka’s younger sister Premlata Kerketta also spoke to Lagatar24.com and said that they are really proud of Priyanka’s performance and it is probably one of her best performances to date. She added that they are looking forward to her performing well in the upcoming 36th National Games.
