Mumbai, Aug 21: After being summoned by the Mumbai Police in connection with the photoshoot controversy case, actor Ranveer Singh requested two weeks time. Ranveer was scheduled to show up at the Chembur police station on Monday, but he has requested an extension.
“Chembur police station had summoned actor Ranveer Singh asking him to appear tomorrow. The actor has sought 2 weeks time to appear, now fresh summons will be sent by Chembur police after fixing a new date,” said Mumbai Police.
Notably last month, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the Chembur police station against Ranveer Singh based on a complaint made by an officer of a nonprofit organisation. According to the lawsuit, the actor ‘hurt the sensibilities of women in general and insulted their modesty with his images.’
On July 21, pictures from Ranveer’s photo shoot for Paper Magazine were uploaded to the internet. Ranveer is shown in the pictures without any clothing on. While Ranveer was backed by many in the film industry, some felt that his images were inappropriate for social media sharing.
