RMC to use JCB, motor pumps to deal with water logging in Ranchi

Ranchi, June 15: Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) will be using JCB and 5 HP motor pumps to deal with the water logging issues during monsoon this year. The equipment have been supplied to the zonal supervisors of the four zones.

RMC has identified various localities in the city which are affected with water logging during monsoon. These identified places include Vasundhara Apartment, Kunj Bihar Menkan Chowk, Pragati Path among others.

The Assistant Municipal Commissioner Sheetal Kumari said that RMC is continuously cleaning the drain. She added that the places where water logging occurs, it will be removed through pumps. For different wards, separate teams have been formed which will be led by a supervisor and they will work to extract water. The control room can also be contacted regarding the problem of water logging.

The capital on Tuesday experienced a brief shower during the first half and monsoon is expected to arrive in the city in the next two days.

RMC has also been working on covering the open drains in the city from one week and as informed by the officials, the drains which will not be covered by concrete slab before monsoon will have a red ribbon boundary around it.
