Ranchi, Sept 24: The “Gift of Life” campaign, run by the Rotary Club, will provide free surgeries for children with congenital heart defects or valve issues in Kochi, Kerala. Children aged one month to 18 years will receive treatment at the renowned Amrita Hospital in Kochi.
Dr. Brajesh P. Kotayil, a prominent cardiologist from AIIMS Kochi, and his team will conduct screenings at Raj Hospital in Ranchi on October 3rd and 4th. Parents of the children undergoing screening will need to bring their child’s previous medical records, test reports, echocardiography, ECG, and chest X-ray reports.
It’s worth noting that this campaign is a joint initiative by Rotary Ranchi, Rotary Ranchi Midtown, Rotary Ranchi North, and Rotary Ranchi South.
Rotary Ranchi spokesperson Praveen Rajgarhia said in the press conference that Open Heart Surgery for children will be conducted free of cost by Rotary. The service work is being carried out through its 104 clubs and 4000 Rotary members located at various places throughout Jharkhand and Bihar. Rotary International is determined to discharge its social responsibilities. Important efforts are being made by the organization to provide medical facilities to the deprived sections of the country.
Manju Gambhir, President of Rotary Ranchi Mid Town said that Rotary has set the target of conducting operations for needy children in Jharkhand and Bihar. Serving people and establishing peace is the main objective of Rotary.
Rotary is a 118-year-old organization established with the aim of education, health and human service.
Yogesh Gambhir, former governor of Rotary District 3250, said that parents can bring their child to Raj Hospital Ranchi every Tuesday or Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon and can get a free consultation from renowned doctor Dr Rajesh Jha. If necessary, such children will be operated by Rotary without any cost.
