Jamshedpur, June 26: RSB, a fast-growing global engineering industry, has decided to set up a super speciality hospital in Jamshedpur.

Apart from its contribution in industrial development of the state, the RSB Group will set up a state-of-the-art super specialty hospital near the Adityapur Auto Cluster.

Vice-president of RSB Group SK Behera told newsmen here today that the hospital is  expected to be fully operational in next two years.

The first phase will include a 500-bed hospital, with plans to expand to 1,000 beds in the future.

” I got inspiration for building a hospital during my mother’s treatment at Raffles Hospital in Singapore some years ago. In fact, the hospital would be modelled on the lines of Raffles Hospital. It will house all critical units,” said Behera.

The hospital is expected to draw an investment of around Rs 200 crore.

Behera went on to say that the idea is to come up with a medical facility that will take equal care of the patients and the patient’s party comprising relatives and friends.

Behera also unfolded the plan to expand into the EV sector and lauded Jharkhand’s industrial policy.

He stressed the need for improving infrastructure like road, airport and electricity which he said would automatically attract investors to the region.

He pointed out that the state’s inadequate industrial infrastructure is an impediment to the pace of progress.

Behera said that RSB group operates 13 industrial units manufacturing different products, five of which are based in Jharkhand.

The group which has its corporate office in Pune, has also expanded over shore to Mexico, where it runs a manufacturing facility.

Behera, the former chairman of CII- Jharkhand announced that the company is entering the electric vehicle manufacturing sector through a partnership with an Israeli company, in anticipation of the future demand for electric vehicles.

The press conference at a hotel this afternoon was also attended by Jaya Singh, the HR head of the company, and other senior officials.
