New Delhi, Sept 22: Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, the President of the All India Imam Organization, referred to Mohan Bhagwat, the RSS leader, as a “rashtra pita” (father of the nation).
“Mohan Bhagwat ji visited on my invitation today. He’s ‘rashtra-pita’ and ‘rashtra-rishi’, a good message will go out from his visit. Our ways of worshipping god are different but biggest religion is humanity. We believe country comes first,” said Dr Ilyasi, Chief Imam,All India Imam Organisation.

Notably, in an effort to connect with Muslim leaders, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat met with the well-known preacher on Thursday in Delhi.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh “sarsangchalak” visited a mosque in north Delhi’s Azadpur before going to the Madarsa Tajweedul Quran on central Delhi’s Kasturba Gandhi Marg.
In more than a month, the RSS chief has met with Muslim intellectuals twice. Five Muslim scholars had previously met with Mohan Bhagwat to “strengthen communal peace.”
