Ranchi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh office at Niwaranpur in Ranchi was targeted late at night when two youths attempted to throw petrol-filled bottles at the premises. The bottles failed to clear the boundary wall and fell near it, preventing any major damage. Police swung into action immediately upon receiving information and launched an investigation.
CCTV Footage Shows Two Attackers
Ranchi City SP Paras Rana confirmed that initial investigation has revealed the involvement of two youths. Police have obtained CCTV footage showing the two attackers attempting to throw the petrol bombs at the RSS office. During the first attempt, the burning fuse fell to the ground, making the bomb ineffective. The second petrol bomb was also thrown but failed to reach the office premises. Investigation revealed that chilli sauce bottles were used to make the petrol bombs. FSL teams and multiple investigation squads have been deployed, and CCTV footage from surrounding areas is being examined to identify and arrest the accused.
Nearby Hotel Employees Under Suspicion
According to local sources, some employees of a hotel located near the RSS office are suspected to be involved. A few days earlier, RSS office members had filed a complaint against the hotel over cleanliness and other issues, which reportedly led to an ongoing dispute. Police suspect the hotel employees may be behind the attack, though no official confirmation has been made yet.
BJP MP Condemns Attack
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Kumar Verma condemned the incident, calling it deplorable, cowardly, and a direct attack on democratic values. He described the RSS as an organisation dedicated to nation-building, social harmony, and service, and said targeting its office appeared to be a deliberate attempt to spread fear and instability in society. He demanded that the Jharkhand government and police identify and arrest the culprits, expose all elements behind the conspiracy, and ensure such incidents are not repeated.
