RTE Admission Deadline Extended in Ranchi: Apply Till April 10 for Private School Seats

Ranchi: The Ranchi district administration has extended the last date for online applications under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009 for the academic session 2025-28. Parents can now apply until April 10, 2025, for admissions to 25% reserved seats in entry-level classes of private unaided schools (excluding minority institutions). Earlier, the deadline was March 31, 2025.

The extension has been made following the directives of Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, under Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act and in accordance with departmental notification number 237 (dated 16.02.2016).

Who Can Apply?

Children from the following categories living within a 6 km radius of the school are eligible for admission under this scheme:

• Disadvantaged groups: Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Extremely Backward Classes, Backward Classes, Minority communities, children with more than 40% disability, and orphans.

• Weaker sections: Families with an annual income of less than ₹72,000.

How to Apply?

Interested parents can visit the official website rteranchi.in to complete the application process online. All other existing conditions and guidelines remain unchanged.
