Ranchi, Jan 3: Ranchi University is set to release its Academic, Sports, Examination, and Cultural calendars soon. As per Vice Chancellor Dr Prof Ajit Kumar Sinha, the University will set these calendars and will “literally follow the calendars.”
As a result of this, dates for Convocations, and examinations will be set at the beginning of the session. This will also set an end date for the professor to complete their syllabus in time. As a result of this, students facing issues of waiting for their examination dates because of incomplete syllabi will be a thing of the past.
So far, deciding the dates for convocation and examinations is up to the University after the syllabi is completed and the exams are done. This has time and again resulted in delays, as a result of which, students have often been unable to apply for further courses in other universities.
The RU administration is making four calendars simultaneously for the first time. These will include examinations, sports, and academic and cultural activities. All four calendars are likely to be released in January itself.
While talking in this regard, the VC said, “Ranchi University administration is making four calendars simultaneously which will be issued soon. Convocation and examinations will be held on a fixed date now. We will follow the calendars to a T. We are hopeful that examinations, results and everything in between will be on schedule.”
“As a result of this, there will be no session delay as all the activities related to the examination are pre-scheduled. Students will be given degrees as soon as they pass the exam. Due to this, the unnecessary problems of the students due to delay in degree and session will not affect students anymore,” he added.
Notably, earlier, the University would publish examinations and cultural calendars. However, neither the examinations were held as per the schedule nor the results were released on time.
In order to promote sports activities, the RU admin will make appointments for the vacant posts of sports coaches on a contract basis. There are posts of sports coaches available in 14 constituent colleges of RU that are all vacant at the moment. As a result, there is little to no sports activity in the colleges, despite the fact that Jharkhand has never had a dearth of talent in the field of sports.
