Kyiv, Oct 10: Early on Monday, a number of powerful explosions shook the Ukrainian city of Kyiv. After the sound of approaching missiles, large explosions have reportedly been heard in Kyiv, according to AP.
According to Reuters, explosions were also reported in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro and in the western Ukrainian cities of Lviv, Ternopil, and Zhytomyr.
Up to four explosions were heard this morning throughout the city, and according to a source from The Kyiv Independent, a spoke was observed rising from one location in the middle.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, confirmed the news on Telegram, stating that numerous explosions had shaken the Ukrainian city and that emergency personnel were on the scene.
“Several explosions in the Shevchenkivskyi district- in the centre of the capital,” Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said on social media.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that many people were killed and injured in multiple strikes across the country today.

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is ‘trying to destroy us and wipe us off the face of the Earth’. He also added that there have been casualties in missile attacks across Ukraine.
