Santhal Pargana Commissioner reviews Republic Day preparations in Dumka

Dumka, Jan 15: Santhal Pargana Commissioner Chandra Mohan Prasad Kashyap has necessitated for proper Covid appropriate arrangements to be made at the venue of the Republic Day function to be held here at police line ground on January 26.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren is to hoist the tricolour in the sub capital Dumka in the main event of the republic day celebrations being the chief guest.

The commissioner was presiding over a meeting with the administrative and police officials of the district at the conference hall of the district collectorate on Saturday to review the preparatory arrangements for the Republic Day function.

Kashyap directed the officials to felicitate freedom fighters by visiting their homes.

Earlier, freedom fighters were brought to the district headquarters and felicitated by the Governor and the chief minister the day before the Independence Day and Republic Day function who unfurl the national flag at the sub capital on respective events.

“For aged persons are more vulnerable to be inflicted by the Coronavirus it will be proper to felicitate freedom fighters by approaching them in their respective home’s” the commissioner said adding that persons below and above the age groups of eighteen and sixty years must be restricted from visiting the venue of the Republic Day function under the same backdrop.

He also said that the number of tableaus to be displayed on the occasion should also be minimised with maximum six persons be allowed on the vehicles carrying them.

The number of invitee guests has also been fixed at maximum one hundred apart from ensuring two feet distance be maintained while arranging the chairs.

Covid protocol according to the Commissioner should also be maintained during the rehearsal of parades.
