Ranchi, May 5: The president of Central Sarna Committee, Ajay Tirkey, has informed that the construction of the building at the Sarna Sthal will go as planned by the state government and will provide employment opportunities to people from the Sarna Community.
Around 17 Sarna worshippers from 21 villages ended their seven days fast on Thursday at the Sarna Sthal at Serom Toli, Ranchi. As a part of their ritual, the fasting is done by different families at different times for a week and it is ended by drinking fruit juice and eating food.
Recently, the Sarna Sthal has been in the news after Chief Minister Hemant Soren laid the stone for the construction of a five storeyed building at the religious site.
The decision was later criticised by Union Minister Arjun Munda who said that the construction of the building makes no sense as the tribal people are connected with nature and do not live in buildings.
The statement by the union minister was not taken well by the people of the Sarna community and they replied to the statement by saying that along with the construction of the building, the tribal welfare department and the state government will be providing necessary essentials for the development and education of the tribal youths in the state.
As per the information provided by the members of the Central Sarna Committee, the decision the construct the five storeyed building at the Sarna Sthal will take place as planned and there are no plans to put it on hold.
