Jamshedpur, July 19: Four railway stations of the South Eastern Railway have been identified as ‘Freedom Stations.’ The stations are Ranchi, Tatanagar, Chakradharpur and Balasore.
Archana Joshi, general manager, South Eastern Railway flagged off a motorcycle rally as a part of the celebration of “Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Stations” to commemorate 75 years of independence.
The Bikers Rally will proceed towards Champaran, Bihar. A week-long programme will be organised by South Eastern Railway to mark the occasion along with the other zones of Indian Railways from July 19 to July 23.
Officials at Garden Reach, the Kolkata- based headquarters of S E Railway said several activities have been planned at these four stations to commemorate the event “Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Stations”.
Nukkad Nataks (street plays) having the essence of freedom struggle will be staged. Photo Galleries will be set up at stations related to the freedom struggle.
Patriotic Songs will also be played at the major stations during this week. Light and sound shows will be arranged and video clips will be played at stations associated with the Indian Freedom struggle.
12810 Howrah-Mumbai CSMT Mail has been identified for this event and will be flagged off by family members of Freedom Fighters on July 20. The train will be appropriately decorated and historical facts will be displayed for public viewing.
The event, Azadi Ki Rail Gadi Aur Stations will be organised as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating the 75 Years of Independence.
