Second Amrit Kalash Yatra special train chugs off from Ranchi railway station

Jamshedpur, Oct 30: To mark the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations of India’s Independence, the Union government has undertaken the campaign ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’.

As a part of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, South Eastern Railway introduced the second Amrit Kalash Yatra Special train from Ranchi Station yesterday.

The special train carried around 400 delegates with Amrit Kalash containing sacred soil from Jharkhand. The train was flagged off from Ranchi railway station.

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda, was the chief guest and flagged off the train.

The first Amrit Kalash Yatra Special Train was flagged off on October 28 from Ranchi station.  The special train carried 507 delegates with Amrit Kalash containing sacred soil from Jharkhand.

The special trains from Ranchi will reach New Delhi and after that the delegates will join the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatris’ from other states and Union Territories to participate in a two-day programme at Kartavya Path and Vijay Chowk on October 30-31.
