Security personnel recover cache of arms and ammunitions in Lohardaga

Ranchi, Dec.30: Maoist Govind Birijia, who was arrested yesterday, helped the security personnel recover a large quantity of hidden I.E.Ds., codex wire, arms, cartridges, Naxalite papers, mobile phone, medicine and two bags along with the materials of daily use from Lohardaga forests today.

Birijiya was arrested after an encounter in Korgo village under Bagdu police station area of the Lohardaga district. The encounter started after security personnel engaged in anti-naxal operations in Jharkhand reached in the locality on getting information regarding movement of extremists.

Before Birijia was arrested, the security personnel gunned down Chandrabhan Pahan carrying Rs 5 lakh on his head.

The cache of arms and ammunition recovered on the lead of Birijia so far include one INSAS rifle, one SLR rifle, two 303 rifles, one semi-automatic rifle and more than 500 rounds of bullets.  Yesterday security personnel had recovered more than 200 IEDs.
