Daltonganj, Nov. 29: Six BLO (Booth Level Officer) supervisors and 23 Anganbadi sevikas in Daltonganj assembly constituency have been issued show-cause notices on charges of gross negligence and dereliction of duties in respect of the special summary revision of the electoral roll.
These notices have been issued by the Electoral registration officer of Daltonganj assembly constituency cum SDO (Sadar), Rajesh Kr Sah on account of inefficient and ineffective work amounting to negligence and dereliction of duties in electoral work.
BLO supervisors have been asked to present their explanation in three days, failing which departmental proceeding against them will be taken. As for the anganbadi sevikas, their controlling officer is to be written to strip them of their selection.
State chief electoral officer, K Ravi Kumar had, on Saturday, reviewed the special summary revision of the electoral roll in Daltonganj and had expressed his utter displeasure over the progress of this important electoral exercise.
Sah was the first to initiate administrative measures against the errant staff involved in the process.
“These errant people failed to even load 5 forms on the GARUDA App which clearly suggests these people have no concern for what they have been assigned to perform. Such carelessness and passivity of them will be curbed with firm hands and no one should have any illusion to get away from being noticed,” he said.
Sources said that Sah visited households and inquired about the number of eligibles who were not enrolled or have not applied for the enrolment so far.
At the voters’ awareness programme at YSN Mahila College on Saturday, K Ravi Kumar had a word of acknowledgement of what Sah had said there in that programme in connection with the gender gap.
Sah said: “We in consultation with YSN Mahila College have nominated Isha Raj, a History honours student, as our ambassador there and she has generated 100 forms for the special summary revision among the girls who have either attained 18 years of age or will be 18 on the first day of 2022.
