New Delhi, Aug 26: Shrikant Tyagi was granted bail by a local court on Friday in three cases, but he will still be detained because the Delhi Police have charged him under the Gangster Act. For assaulting and verbally insulting a woman at his high-rise in Noida, Tyagi was detained on August 9.

On August 5, the police detained Shrikant Tyagi for harassing and assaulting a woman on the grounds of Grand Omaxe in Noida Sector 93B. The incident happened when the woman objected to Tyagi planting some trees, claiming it was against the law, despite his claims that it was within his rights to do so.

In total, 12 police teams and the Uttar Pradesh STF searched three states for Shrikant Tyagi. The cops apprehended him and three of his pals after tracking him to Meerut.

Shrikant Tyagi was charged with violating the Indian Penal Code’s sections 354 (outraging a woman’s modesty and assault), 447 (criminal trespass), 323 (voluntarily causing harm), 504 (intentional insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation).

He was later charged with cheating and impersonation under sections 419 (cheating by personation) and 482 (false property mark) of the Indian Penal Code for putting the insignia and monograms of the Uttar Pradesh government on his automobiles (IPC).
