SI killed in road accident, another injured in Dhanbad’s Sudmadih

Dhanbad, Nov 23: A trainee Sub Inspector (SI), Suman Kumar Singh died while another Mukesh Raut got injured when their bike collided head on with a tanker at the Loco Bazaar under Sudamdih police station, around 15 km away from district headquarters on Tuesday.

The officer in-charge of Sudamdih police station, Aditya Kumar Nayak, informed that accident occurred around 1 p.m. Both the police officers were going on a single bike when their vehicle collided with tanker on Jharia-Sindri main road.

The police has seized the tanker. The driver managed to escape from the spot after incident.

Suman Kumar Singh succumbed to his injury on the spot. Sanjay Raut whose both hands got fractured in the incident was admitted in the nearby Chasnala community health centre (CHC) and released in the evening.

Suman Kumar Singh belonged to Palamu district and was posted at the Jorapokhar police station for last two years. On receiving the information, senior police officers of the district reached Jorapokhar police station to take stock of incident.

A police officer of Jorapokhar police station said that both sub-inspectors were going to meet the sub divisional police officer (SDPO) Sindri under which Jorapokhar police station falls when the incident took place.
