Simaria subdivisional police officer Ashok Priyadarshi said the arrest was made from Shila village.

Sources said Ranjan got the information about the smuggler and so he immediately formed a team led by Priyadarshi and comprising of Shila outpost officer-in-charge Ramdev Verma.

The team carried a raid in Hahe village under Shila outpost nabbing one Kameshwar Ganjhu from there. A total of 2.5kg opium was found in his possession.

Sources said police are interrogating Kameshwar to know others involved with him in this illegal business. “We will nab them also,” added an officer.
