Ranchi: As proceedings began on the third day of the Jharkhand Assembly’s Monsoon Session, the Speaker expressed displeasure over member attendance, noting that several MLAs ask questions but remain absent from the House when their turn comes up, stating that this undermines the dignity of the Assembly.
Confusion Over Arup Chatterjee’s Attendance
Following his remarks, the Speaker began calling out members’ names, during which MLA Arup Chatterjee was also marked absent, prompting him to clarify that he was indeed present in the House.
Latecomers Pradeep Yadav and Jairam Mahto Request Reconsideration
Meanwhile, MLAs Pradeep Yadav and Jairam Mahto, who arrived late to the House, found that their names had already been called for their respective questions. Both requested the Speaker to allow their questions to be taken up, but the Speaker responded that proceedings had already moved past that point.
