Patna: Political speculation has intensified after Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Pandey met Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, triggering widespread discussion about whether he may join the Bharatiya Janata Party, though no official statement has been issued following the meeting.

Meeting Sparks Political Buzz

Ritesh Pandey’s interaction with the Delhi BJP leadership has set off sharp political chatter in Bihar and beyond. While the singer has remained silent on any future political alignment, the absence of clarification has further fueled conjecture within political circles.

Exit From Jan Suraj and Clarification

Commenting on his decision to leave Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party, Pandey said the move was driven by personal and political considerations. He expressed respect for Kishor’s efforts and the party’s core ideology but stated that, given the prevailing circumstances, he did not see himself continuing with the campaign. He refrained from outlining any future political plans.

Past Electoral Foray in Bihar

In the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Ritesh Pandey contested from the Kargahar constituency in Rohtas district on a Jan Suraj Party ticket but lost. Despite the defeat, he remained associated with the party’s organisational activities at the grassroots level. The Jan Suraj Party, however, failed to win any seats in the election.
