Stakeholders working for child rights should ensure aftercare of children, says MGNREGA commissioner

Ranchi, Jan 3: MGNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B on Tuesday said that for the better future of children covered under non-institutional care due to various disaster and social reasons, it is very important to connect such children with an aftercare programme so that these children can be given basic facilities as well as a bright future.

She added that it is very important to take strict steps towards the integration of the children living in various homes in the state into society 

The MGNREGA commissioner was presiding over the review meeting of the draft aftercare guide for children constituted by various stakeholders in the Rural Development Department Auditorium today.

While reviewing the draft of the aftercare guide for children, constituted by various stakeholders, She directed that after determining the policy draft, it is necessary to set additional standard operating procedures for its implementation.

Agreeing with the suggestions suggested by the stakeholders, the MGNREGA Commissioner said that it is important to assess the need of these children at the district level and link them to the aftercare program for a better future for the children covered under non-institutional care due to various disaster and social reasons.

Notably, the prescribed amendment proposals for the formation of Jharkhand Juvenile Justice Rules 2023 were given to UNICEF and other stakeholders present in the meeting within 15 days.
