Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has instructed the state government to remain vigilant following the situation in Bangladesh and the alleged infiltration by individuals of Bangladeshi origin into the Santhal Pargana region. The court made this directive during a hearing on Thursday regarding a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking an investigation into the alleged “land jihad” by Bangladeshi nationals in the area.

In light of recent political upheaval in Bangladesh, the court emphasized the need for increased alertness from the state government. Additionally, the court has ordered the Intelligence Bureau (IB) to submit a sealed report on the matter.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, heard the case and scheduled the next hearing for August 22.
