Strictly ensure compliance with fire safety norms: Ramgarh DC

Ramgarh, Feb 3: Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner (DC) Madhavi Mishra, while taking information about the current arrangements for protection from arson in private nursing homes/hospitals, cinema halls, apartments and other big buildings, made it mandatory for all operators and representatives and instructed to strictly ensure compliance with fire safety norms.

She said this during a review meeting in the collectorate hall on Friday regarding standard measures for safety from accidental arson in private nursing homes/hospitals, cinema halls, apartments and other big buildings.

On the spot, Ramgarh DC instructed the fire safety officer to conduct a surprise check campaign, taking information about the NOC and fire safety audit etc related to the fire safety system in the above-mentioned places/buildings.  

She also gave other necessary instructions including keeping the adequate arrangement of sprinklers etc and regular refilling of fire extinguishers.  

The Deputy Commissioner instructed all the representatives and operators to compulsorily arrange exit points in their buildings in case of emergency and inform people about it through adequate signage.

The Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey directed all the operators and managers to set up control rooms in their respective buildings and monitor any emergency including the fire safety alarm from the control room, while he instructed all to coordinate with the fire safety officer.

Along with this, the SP gave detailed information to all the operators and representatives regarding the legal action to be taken for disobeying the fire safety norms.

During the meeting, he asked all the operators and representatives to obtain pre-construction fire safety NOC, and renewal of NOC through https://advantage.jharkhand.gov.in/SingleWindow/registrations/departmentService/Mg==/  and detailed information was given regarding other works including.

The DC gave necessary instructions to the Ramgarh Civil Surgeon to ensure fire safety arrangements in all hospitals/nursing homes and other health institutions under the Ramgarh district.
