Ranchi, Mar 11: The politics of Jharkhand is set to witness new alignments and repositioning after the Ajsu Party chief Sudesh Mahto announced the making of the third front comprising five MLAs known as Jharkhand Loktantrika Morcha (JLM).

Addressing the media on the sidelines of the budget session of the assembly on Friday, Sudesh Mahto said that he along with party MLA Lambodar Mahto, NCP MLA Kamlesh Kumar Singh, and Independents Saryu Roy and Amit Yadav have decided to form a group for the common causes of Jharkhand. Sudesh Mahto has been nominated as leader of the legislative party of this newly formed association.

“We have formed this alliance to raise and address issues of Jharkhand. We have often painfully seen how due to lack of time and sincerity the actual issues of Jharkhand don’t get attention in the assembly. Due to this reason, we have formed this front,” Sudesh Mahto said.

Saryu Roy on the other hand said that for the past couple of days they were discussing the front. “Today we held a meeting in the chamber of Sudesh Mahto and formally decided to form a front which is named as Jharkhand Loktantrika Morcha. Sudesh Mahto will be the leader of the legislative party of JLM. You can see the situation inside the assembly. Currently, the assembly session is going on. But you can see the lack of sincerity in discussing important matters related to Jharkhand,” said Saryu Roy.

JLP will be the third front after the UPA and the BJP. It is too early to pass any judgment on the ability of the Group 5 to tilt the politics of Jharkhand. but the impact of this new political template will come to a critical test very soon as the Rajya Sabha election is set to take place in June for two seats.

Both the BJP and the JMM-led UPA combine will require their support to win. Last time the Ajsu Party, Saryu Roy and Amit Yadav had voted for the BJP candidates in the Rajya Sabha election.
