Daltonganj, July 1: Suga Bandh under the Bareysarn range of the Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) is decked with various amenities for tourists.

There has come up 5 gazebos for the tourists. A long and durable wooden bridge has also been built there.

PTR, south division, Deputy Director Kumar Ashish said, “Gazebos and the wooden bridge here are a piece of beauty and strength. It has been built here to withstand the rush of the tourists.”

“As Suga Bandh gets turbulent in the rainy season we have taken extra measures to keep our wooden bridge strong enough to bear the rush and gush of water underneath it,” Ashish added.

The wooden bridge has been built by the same team which had quite successfully built identical wooden bridges at Mirchaiya Falls and Lodh Falls a couple of years ago and both these bridges have withstood the vagaries of Nature very well.

Deputy director South division of the tiger reserve Palamu Kumar Ashish (T shirt) overseeing the water from the wooden bridge.

“I appeal to our tourists not to litter this beautiful spot with empty bottles of wine, beer, left overs for food, disposable cups and plates as Suga Bandh is not a dustbin but the Nature’s pride beauty for them,” said Ashish.

Paramjeet Tiwary, a dedicated forest guard, here said, “There are instances when a few tourists have met with minor mishap during their overzeal drive to take a Selfie in the water region of the Suga Bandh. Some tourists slip and fall. Some suffer from broken bone. We keep reminding them of not doing any misadventure but tourists never pay any heed to our warnings.”

Tiwary further warned, “There are too many big scorpions in the vicinity. Their size is very threatening. We tell tourists to be careful here.”

“A few weeks ago, a banded karait crossed over the leg of my tracker. The tracker was lucky enough not to have been bitten by this dangerous snake,” recalled this forest guard.

Tourists from West Bengal behave decently and know what not to do but local ones coming from Palamu just ransack the locations by abandoning their things that they do not require any more.

Kumar Ashish said our eco development committee is taking all interest in the Suga Bandh and very soon the eco development committee will fix notional charges for entry into the Suga Bandh, parking etc.

He said the tourists take down their cars right upto the bandh which will be stopped when eco development committee here puts up a drop gate.

About security of women and girl tourists here at Suga Bandh, Ashish said the eco development committee is determined to keep a strict vigil for women and girl tourists.
