Ramgarh, Aug 11: Under the Rishta Project, run by Tata Steel Foundation, the social welfare arm of Tata Steel, the West Bokaro Division of Tata Steel has launched Rishta 2.0 in the villages of its operational area.  Rishta is an initiative dedicated to holistically improving the health and well-being of adolescents.

The Rishta Project was initiated by Tata Steel Foundation West Bokaro in 2013 and started working with 14 Gram Panchayats around the peripheral area under West Bokaro Division.  From FY 2022, the project is implemented in 84 revenue villages under 41 gram panchayats of Mandu block. This project aims to reach 32,000 adolescents in the next 5 years.

Rishta 2.0 aims to spur India’s social, political and economic development and ensure that adolescents’ safety, health, education, and empowerment are effectively addressed.

This new phase of the project aims to empower the adolescents of the region by helping them make informed decisions as well as provide them with the information and services they need to lead healthy lives. Adolescence is a critical phase characterized by rapid growth and change.

Various sessions are conducted every week on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH), Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), Life Skills Education (LSE) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) awareness and prevention as well as four other dimensions which include promoting healthy behaviour, responding to drop out of school, vocational courses/training, youth change maker development.
