Tata Steel Foundation begins ten-day summer camp for 24 schools in Jharia

Dhanbad, May 25: In a bid to spot and hone the sports skill of school students, Tata Steel Foundation Jharia Division today launched a 10-day summer camp for different disciplines at four grounds.

The officials said that the summer camp is being organized in collaboration with more than 24 schools located in and around Jharia. A total of 500 school children are participating in this 10-day Summer Camp.

Mayank Shekhar, chief of Jamadoba Group Jharia Division of Tata Steel was the chief guest at the opening ceremony and inaugurated the ambitious camp for school students. He said that mission of Tata Steel Foundation is to promote sports as a way of life. He suggested the participants take advantage of the camp in developing their skills.

The summer camp has been organized at Digwadih Stadium, Jamadoba and Bhelatand Football Ground, Sijua respectively from May 25 to June 3. It will run from 6:00 am to 8:00 am.

The official said in the summer camp budding talent of schools will undergo various activities of Archery, Football, Athletics and other sports event. experienced coaches of the Tata Feeder Centre, Jharia Division will impart the training and hone their skills.

“It is a golden opportunity for my son to get training from experienced coaches and instructors of Tata Steel Jharia,” said a guardian of Bhelatand government school who wishes to prop up the career of his son in football.

At the inauguration ceremony, Col. Bhavani Singh Nirwan, (head administration), Jharia Division, Tata Steel, Sujit Jha,( senior manager security), Santosh Mahato, regional secretary, Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Union and other senior officials from Tata Steel Foundation were present.
