Tata Steel West Bokaro Division inaugurates summer camp

Ramgarh, May 16: The ‘Summer Camp 2023’ was inaugurated on Tuesday by Anurag Dixit, General Manager, West Bokaro Division in the presence of Mahesh Prasad, President, Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Union (RCMU) and Rajesh Kumar, Chief, CEP, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel.  About 600 children are participating in this camp which will continue till June 5.

Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Dixit said, “Sports is a way of life at Tata Steel and coming from a small place like West Bokaro, our children have brought laurels to West Bokaro, Tata Steel and Jharkhand on the national and international platform.  Which is a matter of great pride.  Through this camp, many hidden talents will get an opportunity to come forward who will one day emerge as big stars”. He said that there will never be any dearth of resources for the Games.

At an engaging, fun and fit summer camp, school and community children will be trained through athletics, basketball, cricket, football, handball, volleyball, fencing, roll skating, lifestyle management and yoga classes along with events such as athletics.  These events to be organized during the camp will especially help in bringing out the physical, mental and social aspects of the participants.

This camp, organized by the Sports Department of West Bokaro Division, aims to develop team spirit, leadership and competitive spirit among the children and also to sensitize them on the importance of fitness for all.

On the other hand, for the first time in the rural area, Rajesh Kumar, Chief, CEP, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, inaugurated ‘Summer Camp 2023’, organized at Jai Hind Vidya Niketan School premises, Sondiha in which 300 children are participating.  Pankaj Kumar, Head, Stakeholder Management, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, Members of the Sports Department, the School Principal and public representatives were present on the occasion.

The camp is being organized in association with Sports Cell under the guidance of Rohit Prasad, Head, Administration, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel.
