Tata Steel’s Jharia Division launches vaccination drive to combat Covid

Dhanbad, Aug 24: Tata Steel Jharia  Division on  Tuesday launched a community vaccination drive in Dhanbad and Noamundi of West Bokaro to combat the Corona pandemic.
Under this programme, villagers of 45  lease-hold villages of  Jamadoba and Sizua areas of Tata Steel Jharia Division in Dhanbad would be covered with vaccination.
Inaugurating the vaccination campaign at Tata Central Hospital Jamadoba Sanjay Rajoria, general manager of Jharia Division, Tata Steel said that this is an effort to support the national campaign to protect the local community through proper vaccination.

Tata Steel Foundation in coordination with Tata Central Hospital Jamadoba  ( Dhanbad) have organized this ambitious programme to protect villagers from the Corona pandemic.
“The vaccination programme will ensure the safety of the local community of marginalized areas from the danger of growing Corona pandemic,” said Rajoria while launching the drive.
Sourav Roy, chief of corporate social responsibility (CSR), Tata Steel said for combating COVID-19, Tata Steel Foundation has been sensitising communities in the lease-hold villages through the ‘Apno Ki Suno’ initiative which is being carried out across Jharkhand. In Jharkhand, more than 1,83,000 people have been counselled on COVID-19 related issues,
He said during the pandemic period so far more than 34000 food packets were served to the community, 18000 masks were distributed among the community people and 3.5 lakh RAT kits have been distributed to combat COVID-19.
On the occasion, Debashis Bannerjee, chief HRBP, Jharia Division, Tata Steel, Dr Alok, Chief Medical Officer, Jharia Division, Tata Steel, Debdoot Mohanty, Head (TSF), Col Bhavani Singh Nirvan, Head (Administration), Dr Anuj Bhatnagar, head (Public Health), TSF, Rajesh Kumar, Unit Head, Tata Steel Foundation, Jharia Division and Santosh Mahto were present.
