Hyderabad, Sep 15: Nine new government medical institutes throughout Telangana were virtually inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday.
With this, he stated, the state’s total number of government medical colleges has increased from five in 2014 to 26 now.
Speaking at the event, Rao, popularly known as KCR, noted that from 2,850 in 2014 to 8,516 now, the number of medical seats has increased.
Next year, eight additional new government medical colleges will open, he said.
The opening of nine new government medical colleges in one day was a first in the nation’s history of medical education, Telangana’s Health Minister T Harish Rao stated.
