Third edition of Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship kicks off in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 3: The third edition of the Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship 2023 (TSSCC’23) kicked off at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Thursday.

The event is organised by the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) with the support of Tata Steel Foundation & JCAPCPL (Jamshedpur Continuous Annealing & Processing Company Private Limited), and will conclude on February 5.

Rajiv Mangal, Vice President Safety, Health & Sustainability (Designate) Tata Steel graced the inaugural ceremony as chief guest while TSAF Mentor Bachendri Pal, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shree and first Indian woman to summit Mt Everest, was the guest of honour.

More than 265 athletes in boys’ and girls’ categories spread over various age categories across 16 states of the country are participating in the event.

The championship is conducted in Lead Climbing, Speed Climbing, Bouldering, Top Rope and Speed Relay disciplines.
