Kalahandi, May 9: In a confrontation with police officers in the Kalahandi district of Odisha, three Naxalites were killed and one was captured, according to the police on Tuesday.
Initial reports indicate that an intense encounter between police officers and ultras occurred in the Taperenga-Lubengad forest region, which is within the jurisdiction of the Madanpur-Rampur police.
A deputy superintendent of police (DSP) was also hurt in the encounter, according to Superintendent of Police (SP), Kalahandi, Abilash G.
“The DSP has been admitted to Bhima Bhoi Hospital in Bolangir,” SP, Kalahandi said, adding that an AK 47 Rifle also sized from the spot.
