Three youths killed in road mishap near Ghatsila

Jamshedpur, Sept 1: Three youths of the steel city were killed in a road mishap on the NH-33 near Ghatsila on Thursday evening.

All three were residents of the Refugee Colony in Mango and met their tragic end while riding a bike to Ghatsila for getting ‘Rakhi’  tied by the sister of one of the victims.

Those killed were identified as Jaydev Pal, Rajbir Murmu and Kishan Sharma, all in their early twenties.

As the trio were speeding towards Ghatsila, Jaydev who was riding the bike lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. The impact of the collision was so intense that two of the victims, Jaydev and Rajbir were killed on the spot.

Kishan Sharma was also critically injured. The police rescued him and took him to a referral hospital in Ghatsila from where he was shifted to MGM Medical College Hospital.

Kishan was subsequently shifted to Tata Main Hospital and finally to RIMS where he succumbed to his injuries late in the night.

All three were killed due to head injuries. Moreover, none of the victims had put on a helmet.

The accidental deaths of three youngsters that too on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan have cast a pall of gloom in the Mango locality.
