Dhanbad, Jan 27: Jharkhand health minister Banna Gupta today said that Tota Rickshaw charging centre will be set up in all districts of the state soon.
While addressing the annual convention of the Jharkhand Toto Rickshaw Drivers Association (JTRDA) at Amantaran Garden in Dhaiya of coal city today, the health minister said that the state government is working for all-round development of all sections of people.
The state government will also do all possible help to bail out Tota drivers.
“I know the problem of Toto drivers of the state as 20 years ago I also ran auto rickshaw. The main problem of Toto drivers is the charging of vehicles, registration, and fitness fee. In the cabinet, a proposal would be put up for remedy of it on a priority basis.
Congress state disciplinary committee chairman cum district 20 point programme committee deputy chairman Brajendra Prasad Singh, District Cong Committee president Santosh Singh, and State executive committee member Vaibhav Sinha also addressed the convention and pointed out problems being faced by the around 5,000 Toto operators operating in coal city.
Brajendra Prasad Singh alleged that police overlook auto rickshaws when they violate traffic signals but same time book poor Toto drivers without any fault.
Earlier, the health minister held a meeting with deputy commissioner (DC) Sandip Singh, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar and other senior officials over the development execution programme.
He also held a meeting with senior Cong leaders and said that the 20 points programme meeting of Dhanbad would be held next week.
The minister did not visit the medical college and Sadar hospital for inspection.
