Ranchi, Jan.25: The Tribunal constituted under section 27 of Coal Bearing Act in the Jharkhand capital today stayed the order of the union government to encash bank guarantee worth Rs 52.5 crore of Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation (JSMDC) till January 31.

The order came today after JSMDC knocked the door of the tribunal after union mines ministry refused to return its BG after canceling allotment of its coal block, Patal Coal Block, in Hazaribagh after its failure in starting mining activity in five years.

“This is a temporary relief,” an insider said.

Managing director of JSMDC Puja Singhal could not be contacted for her comments. Other junior officials expressed ignorance about the development.
