Two killed in truck-dumper collision at Kandra

Jamshedpur, May 22: Two persons were killed on the spot as a truck and a dumper they were driving had a head-on collision at Raghunathpur on the Kandra-Chowka road under Kandra thana area about 25 km away from here on Monday morning.

The dumper which was laden with sand was coming from Chowka whereas the empty truck was speeding away from Kandra when the mishap occurred.

The collision between the two heavy vehicles was so intense that both the vehicles were severely damaged with the drivers remaining trapped inside the vehicles.

A police party which rushed to the spot from Kandra Thana spent hours together to retrieve the bodies of both drivers.

The body of the dumper driver was identified as that of Ramdas Karmakar (40) and the truck driver Bijay Mahto (38), residents of  Kathgora village in Ichagarh block and Raghunathpur in Nimdih block respectively in Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

The police have recovered the bodies and sent them to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
